I had a very strange thing happen to me today. I have been privileged to witness to the law of attraction in action on many occasions, at first I had no idea what it was or how it worked, I just knew I wanted something to happen with all my heart and that it happened. Then many years after my first consciously witnessing this phenomenon someone suggested that I read ‘The Secret’ and it all started to fall into place.
This was the beginning of my Positive Thinking Journey and although I understand the theory behind it I still struggle with some old limiting beliefs I was given when I was much younger.
Today I asked the universe for a reminder. I asked it to give me Faith… quite literally, ‘Faith’ as in George Michaels debut album. I was going to a market that had among other genres of stalls – Vintage – (some of it’s vintage some just second-hand), and I had been toying with getting a record player after my daughter bought one and made me quite nostalgic. I began to wish I had never given away my old record collection. So, I asked the universe to give me a sign and give me “Faith!”
As a teenager in the 1980’s I was a huge fan of Wham! and later George Michael as a solo artist. I have attended more of their concerts than any other artist and I say with pride. I was there at Wham! the Final at Wembley Stadium in 1986 along with 72,000 other people. As an adolescent I had (like many others) dreamt that George Michael would turn up at my door and whisk me away from all the trials, tribulations and (for some of us) traumas of adolescent life, needless to say, he didn’t turn up. But I did get his debut solo album for Christmas along with my very own record player in 1987.
I figured that ‘Faith’ was a good place to start my collection, just as it did all those years ago…
Looking through the Vinyl record stalls if found nothing, I gave up and started looking around the rest of the stalls, my daughter asked me if I was looking for anything particular, I told her my challenge to the universe, we moved to the next stall, it was a general second-hand stall, not specialising in anything particular. I noticed a small stack of albums… I start to flick through, and OMG! About ¼ of the way through. There it was!
Not a remastered one, an original from 1987, in very near perfect condition, ‘How much?’ I ask thinking (and ready to pay) around $50 AUD “$15.00” she replied!

Even after 28 years of manifesting it still blows me away, every time!
But then the universe decided to make sure I knew it was at work and began to lay it on thick!
I am what’s known as a ‘book lover’ I have more books than I have shelves to put them on, I have old books, new books, classics, fiction, nonfiction, coffee table books, cookery books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, hardback, paperback clothbound etc.
So, I’m already a very happy bunny, today is officially a good day! Walking past another general second-hand stall I notice some old books, I look closer… a 1902 copy of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Essays, ‘how much’ I ask ‘$5.00’ ‘SOLD!’
(When I first started my positive thinking journey I came across quotes from a guy called Ralph Waldo Emerson – they were so profound, and so many of them resonated with me, I looked into who he was and what he did, and I discovered that he was a leader in the transcendental movement in New England back in the 1800s. I downloaded some of his essays and quickly became a fan.)
I turn around and I notice some more old books by the till, what? No, it can’t be… a 1957 copy of ‘Think and Grow Rich’. Okay so, not quite first editions. But I love books, I love old books more.
(In my pursuit of positive thinking I discovered Napoleon Hill – most famous for writing ‘Think and Grow Rich’ one of the best-selling self-help books of all time and the lesser-known ‘Outwitting the Devil’ which I think is one of the most fascinating books I have ever read.)
I felt that the universe was on my side that whole day – I have to remind myself that it is always on my side, ('I gotta have faith') and that’s what happens when you don’t resist it when you don’t let your limiting beliefs get in the way. So now I endeavour to offer up my gratitude and acceptance for all the abundance the universe is giving me every day!
I use the affirmation below every morning and evening, and it appears to be working wonders for me. Copy or print this out and stick it somewhere you will see it every morning such as your bathroom mirror and say it out loud until you believe it!
I am eternally grateful,
and I now accept all the love
and financial abundance the
universe gives me every day. xxx
